Simple daily regime for a glowing and youthful skin

Caring for your skin requires a daily routine program. You have to give your skin some time and repeat the process every day, no matter what. The good news is that this process only has to take 5 minutes and includes three easy steps.

1. Cleanse: Splash warm water on your face and neck. Pour appropriate amount of skin cleanser into your hands, then mix with some water to work it into a creamy lather. Massage this onto your wet face. Using your fingertips or a soft complexion brush, in a circular motion delicately massage your face for about 30 seconds, making sure to include your neck area.

Then rinse with warm water and gently pat your skin dry with a soft towel.

Tip: Always try to use a cleanser specially formulated for cleansing your face rather than a generic kind of soap.

2. Tone: Dampen a piece of cotton with an alcohol-free toner and gently wipe your entire face and neck area. (Alcohol-based toners have a damaging and drying effect on the skin). This step lifts away any residue that you might have missed and also closes your pores, preparing your skin for its moisturizing treatment.

Advice: Rosewater is an excellent toner

3. Moisturize : In an upward, circular motion, now apply a small amount of a moisturizer of your choice to your face and neck areas.

Suggestion: Please use a moisturizer that suits your skin type.

For MEN Shaving Tips

Its a normal routine in everyday's life but since it involves your face......and a razor......its always better to follow certain tips......:-))

Make Sure Your Beard is Thoroughly Wet

One of the keys to a great close shave without irritation or razor burn is to make sure your beard
is thoroughly wet. Facial hair will absorb moisture up to 30% of its volume. Hair swollen with water
becomes quite weak and therefore easier to cut. Showering before shaving is the ideal way to ensure
you beard is properly moistened. If a shower is not possible, rinse your face and then apply a warm
moistened towel to your face for at least a couple of minutes. This is the technique that barbers
use. Never shave cold or apply shaving products to a dry face - this is one of the leading causes of
razor burn and shaving rash.

Use a Quality Shaving Cream

Use a shaving cream that has a high concentration of lubricants (eg silicones) and moisturizers.
The best shaving creams create a rich creamy lather and do not foam up like the cheaper drug store
brands. The less "foaming" in the shave cream the better, as it is what is in contact with the skin
and beard that matters - all else is wasted. Less resistance, less irritation and less nicks also
mean a longer lasting blade! While the primary function of the shaving cream is to lubricate your
face so that the razor will glide smoothly and effortlessly across the surface, it also serves to
lock the moisture into the whiskers, keeping them soft and upright, primed for the cut. The ideal
scenario is to leave the shaving cream on your face for at least a minute before you begin cutting,
so that the beard is as soft and wet as possible.

Use a Quality Razor and Change the Blades

Always use a good quality sharp razor blade. Be sure the blade is sharp. You're not just cutting off
hair, you're also scraping off up to two layers of surface skin when you shave. A dull blade is more
traumatic to the skin, making your face feel scratchy and look blotchy - a dull razor is one of the
contributing factors to razor burn and shaving rash. Depending on the toughness of your beard, change
the blade somewhere between every three and every ten shaves, if you shave every day. Two weeks is
too long to go without changing blades. Regardless of the number of shaves, if the blade becomes dull,
ditch it.
Rinse your blade under hot water before you begin to shave and after every few swipes. This removes
the accumulated shaving cream, whiskers, and skin gunk. The use of hot water here is to help lubricate,
has nothing to do with "killing bacteria."

Use the Razor Properly

Ideally shave in the direction of the beard growth. Start with the sides, then the moustache area and
last the chin. The chin hairs are the toughest, so this allows them the most time to soften under the shave cream.Shaving against the direction of hair growth gives a closer shave, but has two drawbacks:

A. It's a good way to donate blood, and B. You run a high risk of cutting off a hair below skin level, causing an ingrown hair (razor bumps) - the whisker
grows into the surrounding tissue instead of out of the pore, resulting in inflammation and possible infection.
To avoid these shaving problems, again, shave "with the grain" (that is, in the direction your hair grows). Each
person's facial hair has its own growth pattern. If you are unsure of the direction of your beard, let it grow for
a day or two and you'll see it.

http://i59.tinypic.com/ade1yp.jpg

You also need to let the razor do the work - do not press too hard or it will cause razor bumps (ingrown hair)and
razor burn. By the way, you do NOT need special razor bump products - 99% of the razor bump problem will be solved
by not pressing too hard, shaving with the grain and using a good shaving cream.

Cleanse and Soothe After Shaving

After shaving, when the skin is most vulnerable, rinse the face with warm water and use a facial wash that has a high
concentration of tea tree oil (a natural antiseptic that is ideal to help cleanse and protect from spots and shaving rash)
and witch hazel (for its soothing, healing and astringent properties).
Rinse with the coolest water that is comfortable and pat dry with a clean towel. (Don't rub! Just pat)
Finish off with an After Shave Lotion or Balm.

Shaving can remove up to two layers of skin. There is no other regular activity that does this, which is why it is so
important to use a good quality moisturizer after shaving.

An after shave lotion, designed as an after shave balm and
moisturizer in one, is the ideal way to replace lost moisture and soothe the skin. And, be sure to use one made just for guys -
these formulas are designed so that they are not greasy, absorb quickly and dry with a matte finish so that your face doesn't
look shiny.

Typically mositurizers made for women are too greasy as men tend to have not only thicker skin but also oiler skin
than women due to men's larger sebaceous glands. The best after shave lotions not only replace lost moisture and soothe, but also
have ingredients that will cool and refresh the skin.

acne marks fade off with time as new cells start to form on your skin!!

If u want to hasten healing of scars faster, you have to exfoliate your skin mildly every day (but u have to avoid it in case u have acne on ur face)

Exfoliating, brushes off old cells on your skin and surfaces newer cells......so you got to apply sunscreen too if u exfoliate as new skin would be tender and prone to more damage.....

I suggest you to go for oatmeal scrub (banjaras products r good)......to scrub your skin gently everyday.......

Natural scrubs are sugar granules but they are too harsh for skin...........so better oatmeal or apricot scrub.....

Apart from that, besan mixed with milk and few drops of lemon juice lightens acne marks quite efficiently

For skin fairness:

As you know, one cannot change their natural color they are born with but proper skin care and diet, our skin tone can become few shades lighter.

1. Vitamin C is known to inhibit melanin production and thereby make our complexion fairer. Our body needs vitamin C input every day. So, include fruits(/fruit juices with no additives) such as oranges, lemon etc. in your diet. You can as well use supplements for vitamin c though I dont personally recommend em.

2. Veggie juice helps our system detoxify removing acid wastes and gives us a clearer skin. A clearer skin always looks brighter and healthier http://media.santabanta.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.png.

3. Drink also lots of water through the day which will flush out toxins deposit from body, contribute to formation of newer cells and improve blood circulation which in turns contributes to a healthy skin.

4. Apply sunscreen with atleast 30 SPF that prevents skin from getting tanned to larger extent.

5. Scrub your skin once in a week atleast to promote blood circulation and brushing off dead cells from skin.

6. Let me suggest this pack that does enhance skin complexion. Yoghurt mixed with few drops of lemon juice makes skin softer as well as radiant.

Skin reflects back what we give to it. So, regular skin regime with health diet does reflect on skin when done religiously!!

Most common cause for dark circles they say is coz of lack of sleep, fatigue and anemia.

Dehydration is also one other cause.

Its important to figure out the cause for it buddy. Sometimes they claim it as hereditary.

1.Improve intake of water. Reduce salt in food if possible. Salt dehydrates body a lot.

2.Ensure u r sleeping atleast 7-8 hrs per day

3. Caffeine is supposed to be a good home remedy for dark circles. You can place tea bags every night on your eyes for about 15-20 min and do not wash off until morning.

4. In case you dont like to place tea bags, apply eye creams with caffeine in it on the skin around eyes. Almond oil is also a suggested remedy for dark circles.

How to have soft feet without cracks?

1. Every night wash feet and apply any moisturizer or simply rub olive oil until the skin absorbs. Keep the moisture intact by wearing cotton socks and leaving them overnight. When done regularly, feet become very soft and cracks reduce.

2. Feet need frequent scrubbing to expel dead cells. Either get a pedicure or do it at home every fortnight along with a scrubber to drive away dead cells. Seasalt is an excellent foot scrubber!

As a home remedy, fingers have to be exfoliated with any scrub (lemon juice with simple sugar can be used too) and should be moisturized with any hand cream or body moisturizer.

Rubbing lemon slices on fingernails is a good tip to keep em cleaner and brighter

Reduction of puffiness beneath eyes :

1. Rinse your face in cold water when you wake up or when puffy eyes attack anytime of the day to constrict blood vessels and reduce swelling.

2. Settle down for two to five minutes with a chilled, steeped chamomile or green tea bag over each eye. The natural properties of these herbal teas help to bring puffy eyes back down to size.

3. Cucumber contains anti-inflammatory properties to reduce redness and puffiness of eyes. Slice a large cucumber, reserve two slices to place over eyes. Peel and puree the remaining cucumber. This can be applied as a pack onto your face. Remove after fifteen minutes. Apply moisturiser thickly to seal in water.

4. A natural and effective treatment is to use vitamin E oil and rub the oil overnight around your eyes.

5. A drop of perfectly fresh castor oil smeared along the eyelids will also remove puffiness.

6. Avoid foods high in saturated fat and consume more fibre in your diet. Regularity helps move toxins out of the body, which helps control puffiness.

7. Get enough sleep. If you don't, the skin surrounding your eyes is guaranteed to swell. You must get 8 hours sleep daily.

8. Sleep on your back with your head elevated by two pillows. This allows fluid to drain overnight instead of collecting under your eyes, causing puffiness.

Healthy eyes and a beautiful you

Lack of sleep is the major cause for sunken eyes my friend.

You gotto treat your insomnia issue as topical remedies might not play an effective role though they can make em heal faster in conjunction with a good night sleep.

1. Place sliced potatoes on your eyes every night as long as you can and leave it unwashed. Wash off in morning. Potatoes provide essential nutrients/vitamins to the skin around eye.

2. Either apply vitamin E oil or topical fish oil (by breaking the fish oil capsule) on to the skin beneath eyes.

Include dark leafy veggies in your diet and 3 liters of water everyday heals all skin problems effectively

For enhancing hair growth on scalp:

Mix few drops of cinnamon essential oil in olive/coconut oil (base oil) and rub on your scalp every alternate day. Let is remain in your scalp for all the night and wash off in morning. You can do it regularly for about two weeks to see noticeable difference.

If cinnamon essential oil isnt available at your drug/departmental stores, you can also add some cinnamon powder into your hair oil. However, it might spoil your bathroom decor. So, wash off with good amount of water later on!!

Neck care:

The skin on the neck is very thin and delicate and if you don't take proper care then you are likely to develop lines on your neck. Without proper exercise you may land up with loss of muscle tone around the neck and develop premature aged skin resulting in ugly lines around the neck.

The main cause of pigmentation around neck is neglect of the body, exposure to sun and bad posture. This problem gets aggravated in the neck area if we adopt a bad posture thereby causing the pigments to accumulate near the neck and causing pigmentation. Thus if the neck is held straight the problem of uneven distribution of pigment will be less.

Tips:

1. Always keep your neck straight and keep your posture right. Sleep on a low pillow. This will keep the neck alignment proper.
2. Clean the skin regularly and do exfoliation with the general scrub. This will remove the dead cells. Regular scrubbing of the neck with a natural scrubber activates the lymphatic glands and removes dead cells.
3. Massage the neck regularly, but don't apply very high finger pressure.
4. Apply sunscreen to neck area too along with face.

How to increase energy levels?

I used to feel quite tired by evening and few changes in diet helped me restore my energy levels. Here are few for u to increase your energy levels:

1. Exercise regularly at least 5 days in a week for 15-20 min. It will help increase your energy levels but don't over do fr more than 45 min.

2. Instead of eating 2-3 large meals try eating 5 to 6 mini meals. Studies reveal that people who eat small, frequent meals suffer less from exhaustion and can think more clearly than those who eat 2-3 large meals.

3. In your mini meals include food like fruits, vegetable juices like tomato juice, carrot juice, cucumber juice or a whole grain salad sandwich.

4. To boost your energy consume all foods in their natural forms that is, not processed or refined.

5. Limit your sugar intake.

6. Include sprouts in your food habit. Eat sprouts mixed in your salad since it is a very good source of vitamins and sprouting increases the nutritional value of the food.

7. Eat more complex carbohydrates like jawar, bajra, brown rice, oatmeal seeds and dry food since they contain fiber.

8. Take Vitamin-B supplements since B-complex vitamins protect the nerves and increases energy levels. The natural B-complex sources are leafy vegetables, whole grain cereals, pulses, dals, peas, and banana.

9. Try avoiding eating dairy products since they decrease your energy levels. Instead of eating wheat roti eat bajra roti.

10. Eat vegetables, which increase the oxygen carrying capacity of your blood since that will help increase your energy levels. For that take a glass of raw vegetable juice made of tomato, carrot beetroot flavored by coriander or mint leaves and add a dash of limejuice.

Frizzy Hair

You can use a conditioner after washing your hair and brush it when semi dry with fine bristled comb gently. It should help until some extent.

If its extremely frizzy, u can use a leave in conditioner too. However, please use natural products as it can strip off natural oils from hair on longer run.

Never sleep with wet hair as it makes hair more frizzy.

On a personal note, I use a straightening iron with an organic serum product on my hair. So far, it didnt harm my hair. I oil twice a week. Dont be scared to use iron rods. When taken good care along with it, it doesnt harm.

I suggested my case above coz, frizzy hair cant be fixed by natural means so efficiently

or dry hair:

Coconut oil and curry leaves:

Curry leaves are enriched with calcium, vitamins, phosphorous, and iron. Heat two tablespoons of coconut oil adding 5-6 curry leaves (my grandma used to do the same with dried hibiscus flowers) in it. Heat it for a few minutes and allow it to cool down. Apply it on the scalp and hair. Wrap a shower cap on the head for 15 minutes. This ayurvedic treatment will surely nourish your hair.

Castor oil:

Castor oil works wonders on dry hair. It is a natural remedy for various hair problems, like hair loss, dandruff, split ends, dry scalp, hair breakage, dry hair, etc. To heal dry hair, castor oil is effective as it acts as a conditioner. Apply castor oil with your fingertips on hair and scalp. Let it rest for 30 minutes. Wash hair with shampoo.

Honey and Olive oil:

Massage approximately 1/2 cup honey together with reqd. amount of olive oil and let the mixture sit on hair for 30 min. If your hair is damaged due to extreme exposure to sun, trying mixing honey with 1 to 2 Tbsp of a protein-rich ingredient, like avocado or egg yolk, which will help replenish the keratin protein bonds that UV rays attack.
