"Winter can be very harsh on our skin, chapping drying out can even get sore and bleed..
Here are few tips to look after your skin.
*Wash your hands and face with luke warm water this is to avoid stripping oils away from your skin.
It is best to moisturise immediately after as damp skin helps lock in moisture.
*It's very important to choose your moisturiser carefully as some over the counter ones have petroleum based ingredients. These ingredients actually dry your skin. Choose a good oil based one that has natural nourishing and hydrating ingredients. Jojoba is good as it hydrates and helps sooth itching skin.
*Use sunscreen as the winter sun can be just as damaging as the summer sun also wear hats, scarves and gloves to protect your skin from the harsh winter weather.
*In winter we tend to drink less water, your skin needs hydration so keep drinking water.
*It's very important to moisturise at night as it will help retain the moisture. Our hands, feet, elbows and knees have thin skin and lose moisture faster and become very dry so slather on some deep moisturiser and wear cotton socks and gloves to lock in the moisture.
*Don't forget to exfoliate as moisture will not get through the skin if you have a lot of dead cells. Use an exfoliating mask followed by moisturising and see the difference."
